In Central Park, where the city’s heart beats,
Live little evergreens, their work is no small feat.
They stand year-round, through the wind and the frost,
Giving green to New Yorkers, no matter the cost.

With their needles so green, they offer a smile,
In the city’s frigid chill, they go that extra mile.
For the birds and the squirrels, they provide a safe space,
In the midst of the urban, a serene, quiet place.

Their evergreen siblings, spruces and pines,
Hemlocks, hollies, cedars in perfect lines,
They work as a team, in the cold and the snow,
Bringing hope to the city, a warm, cheery glow.

When the holiday lights start to twinkle and gleam,
And the city’s alive with its festive dream,
The little evergreens feel celebrated and bright,
Told to keep going, through day and through night.

So remember these trees, in Central Park they stand,
Offering green and hope to the city so grand.
In the winter months, they’re a glimmer of cheer,
The little evergreens, so precious and dear!
