In the land of Strabo, a sage so wise,
Who traveled afar ‘neath the endless skies.
He journeyed to Rome and Egypt’s shore,
With a mind so curious, he wanted to explore.
He learned from the best, from east to west,
With a Peripatetic teacher, he aced his test.
He studied the stars and the lands so vast,
His love for knowledge was unsurpassed.
In ancient India, a land he’d never tread,
He described creatures, some real, some in his head.
Winged lizards, mythical and grand,
In Strabo’s world, in a distant land.
He wrote of geology, the Earth’s great art,
Of rising mountains and volcanic start.
The sea and land, they danced together,
In Strabo’s world, a geological tether.
So here’s to Strabo, the ancient sage,
Who roamed the world in every age.
His words, his wit, they still endure,
In the annals of history, forever more.
