Try Your Best

Whether the sun is high, or the rain pours down,
And you’ve got a big smile, or you wear a frown,
Remember this lesson, my little one, see,
Just try your best, and your best you’ll be.

Whether you’re climbing a tree so tall,
Or you take a stumble and have a little fall,
Don’t you worry, don’t you stew,
Just try your best, and you’ll make it through.

In school, with homework, it might seem tough,
Numbers and letters, oh boy, that stuff!
But give it your all, and you will find,
You’ve got the power, you’ve got the mind.

If you’re playing a game, and you’re not winning yet,
Don’t throw a fit, don’t get upset.
Just play with heart, and have some fun,
Win or lose, you’re number one!

Life’s a puzzle, with twists and turns,
Sometimes it’s hard, and your stomach churns,
But if you keep trying, give it your best,
You’ll find that you’re ready for every big test.

So remember, dear child, as you journey along,
With a whistle, a grin, or a little song,
When things get tough, and you’re feeling stressed,
Just try your best, and you’ll be blessed!
