In a world where feelings sometimes run wild,
It’s good to remember, as a wise little child,
That when we talk about what’s inside our chest,
Those big, scary feelings become much less.
They start to shrink, they lose some might,
From overwhelming roars to whispers so light.
For when we share what’s deep in our heart,
We take a great leap towards a brand-new start.
Now, talking about feelings may not seem fun,
But let me assure you, it can be easily done.
You can say, “I’m happy,” or “I’m feeling blue,”
Or “I’m excited!” or “I’m worried, it’s true.”
And when we express what’s inside our heads,
It’s like moving a heavy rock off our beds.
The spooky thoughts that make us scared,
Shrink back down to size, and nobody cares!
So, children, remember, when feelings get scary,
Don’t bottle them up, it’s not necessary.
Talk to a friend, or a grown-up who’s wise,
And watch as your feelings all begin to downsize.
With words as your shield, and laughter so hearty,
You’ll conquer those feelings, each one, every party!
No more upset, overwhelming, or scary,
Just feelings that flow, oh so light and airy!
