‘Twas the night before Christmas in the city so grand,
A New York City kid had some plans, you understand.
With fresh bagels and hot cocoa, a hearty delight,
I braved the slushy streets on this wintry night.

I met Santa at Macy’s, with a yuletide wish in my heart,
Then strolled through twinkling lights, a luminescent work of art.
Through the paths of Central Park and Washington Square Park,
I explored the splendid holiday sights, ’twas a thrilling lark.

Under the city lights, so dazzling and bright,
I hailed a yellow taxi, my spirits took flight.
Down Fifth Avenue, the storefronts aglow,
With every step, a new spectacle did show.

Then back to Rockefeller Plaza, I made my way,
To again see the giant tree, in all its holiday array.
Carols hung in the air, skaters graced the ice,
A magical moment for me, oh, it was so nice.

But the best part of all, without a single doubt,
Was dinner in Chinatown, I couldn’t wait to chow!
With family gathered ’round, in a cozy embrace,
Delicious Dim sum dinner, what a charming place.

I dreamt of baseball tickets, to the game I’d loudly cheer,
As visions of Rockette Sugarplums danced ever so near.
In glittering Manhattan, the city that never does sleep,
Christmas dreams in my heart, nestled so tender and deep.

As the clock struck midnight, and stars filled the sky,
I gazed at the iconic skyline, with a heartfelt sigh.
In the city that never sleeps, on this Christmas Eve,
I knew in my heart, there’s no place I’d rather be.
